Focalpoints is a personal project I started near the end of 2020 after giving up on an endless search for a task manager that I enjoyed using. Instead of trying another new app and ending up right back where I started, I decided to build one that could fit into the way I work and solve the problems I had with other task managers.

I started working on Focalpoints as a side project and used the opportunity to explore new software technologies and expand my knowledge in design and development spaces.

By the time I decided to build Focalpoints, I had tried what felt like an endless amount of task managers. Before I started designing, I wanted to reflect on my experience with other apps and research other solutions. I settled on the key problems for Focalpoints to solve to be a successful product.

Total Tastings is an event and product demo company based in St. Louis, Missouri. Specifically, they work with distributors to promote food and beverage products through sales-focused tasting events. They have a team of 100+ ambassadors that typically work part time hosting events and sampling products.

In 2020, as they grew out of their current scheduling and event system, we partnered with them to help re-imagine the way their ambassadors managed their work responsibilities. 

I led the product design for this project and worked directly with Total Tastings and their ambassadors to design a product that met business goals and fit user needs.
